How Recordings Work In Moderated Studies

Moderated sessions in DLYTE can be recorded. Recordings are handled from consent through to storage and deletion.

Consent Before Joining

Before a participant can join a moderated session, they are presented with a consent dialog inside the platform. They must check two boxes to proceed:

Consent to participating in a recorded research session
Agreement to a confidentiality requirement for the session content

Both confirmations are required before the Join Session button becomes active. Participants cannot enter the session without completing this step.

Who Can Access The Recording

Recordings are treated as controlled research assets. Access is limited to authorised users within your business account, including the Owner, Admins and any Members you have added.

Recordings are not shared publicly, are not accessible to participants after the session, and are not made available to other organisations.

How Long Recordings Are Kept

DLYTE retains session recordings for 75 days. Before deletion, your team receives automated email reminders at 14 days and again at 3 days before the recording is removed.

Transcripts, notes and highlights from the session are not affected by the 75-day limit and remain available indefinitely.

If you need to retain a recording beyond 75 days, download it from your Session Review panel before the expiry date.
