How many people get notified when they match a study?

When a new study is published, DLYTE does not notify every tester who matches the study criteria.

Instead, we notify a controlled group of matched testers first. This helps businesses fill their study quickly while avoiding a poor tester experience where too many people are invited for too few available places.

How notifications work

If you match a study, you may receive an email or platform notification inviting you to take part.

However, matching a study does not always mean you will be notified immediately.

DLYTE ranks matched testers based on the study requirements, profile fit, availability and eligibility. The highest-ranked matched testers are notified first.

How many people are notified?As a general rule, DLYTE notifies approximately 5 matched testers for every 1 participant needed.

This gives the study enough opportunity to fill quickly, while keeping invitations controlled and fair.

Why do we notify more people than the number of places available?

Not everyone who receives an invitation will respond straight away.

Some testers may:

• Miss the email
• Open the invitation too late
• Be unavailable
• Choose not to participate
• Start but not complete the study
• No longer meet the final study requirements

For this reason, DLYTE invites more matched testers than the exact number of places available.

For example, if a study needs 10 participants, we may notify around 50 matched testers upfront. This gives the study a better chance of filling on time without needing to wait for one person at a time.

Does an invitation guarantee a place?

No. An invitation means you have been matched to the study and may be eligible to participate.

Places are limited and may fill quickly.

If you receive an invitation, we recommend opening it as soon as possible. Once the study reaches the required number of participants, the opportunity may close.

What happens to other matched testers?

Matched testers who are not notified in the first group may be kept in reserve.

If more participants are needed, or if invited testers do not respond, DLYTE may notify additional matched testers from the reserve group.

This helps studies continue filling without notifying the entire matched pool at once.

Why not notify everyone who matches?

Notifying every matched tester can create a poor experience.

For example, if a study only needs 5 participants but 100 people are notified, many testers may click the invitation only to find the study is already full.
